As Founding Partner of Flatiron Realty Capital, Robert Talas leads the Company’s business development and loan origination efforts, also overseeing many of the day-to-day operations of the firm. In alignment with Flatiron’s risk-based investment philosophy and commitment to prudent credit quality standards, Robert has leveraged his 20 years of industry experience in Agency lending to drive the Company’s infrastructure development consistent with institutional standards and the manufacturing of investment grade quality assets.

Robert is also directly responsible for leading Flatiron’s TPO production channel which offers table-funded alternatives and line of credit solutions to approved counterparties, thereby extending Flatiron’s institutional capabilities to local originators and TPO partners nationwide.
Prior to co-founding Flatiron in 2018, Robert Talas operated in various mortgage origination and sales management roles throughout the Tri-State area. Robert has also consistently been recognized as a top mortgage originator, having personally originated more than 4,000 residential mortgages for $2+ billion in transactional volume.

Throughout his career, Robert has managed over 1,000 sales professionals and is passionate about imparting his industry knowledge and enthusiastic sales philosophy onto others. Robert is also an active investor in single family homes, having purchased, rehabilitated, and sold over 40 investment properties in the past five years.

Robert Talas attended Queens College, City University of New York. Robert is also a member of Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), Metro New York Chapter. Robert has a thirst for knowledge, travel and cultural experiences, and embracing the challenge of trying new things – most recently engaging in tennis, biking, and hiking. Robert is also committed to investing in local communities and donating to charitable organizations, having made philanthropic contributions to a diverse set of non-profits including various children’s medical foundations, orphanages, UJA-Federation of New York, and Sahedria (children’s rehabilitation center located in Jerusalem).
